Lavender Songs play on at Pangea!

The 2007 Bistro-award winning show returned in fall 2016.  We opened the week of the 2016 presidential election, and it was chilling to feel how deeply the words of queer Weimar artists resonated with our own age.  Jeremy Lawrence's is brilliant performing his creation, Tante Fritzi ("the only relative you'll ever have who WON'T give you advice!").  You can read Marjorie Ingall's wonderful piece from Tablet here, and get more info about current shows on Facebook page.

Uncle Tom's Cabin at Pittsburgh Playhouse

What began as an exploratory workshop at the 2015 Lincoln Center Directors Lab grew into a thrilling collaboration with director Tome Cousin.  It was the most popular American play of the 19th century, but today, it is almost never done.  Most people associate it with bad stereotypes, minstrelsy, and the (mis)perceptions of what it means to be an "Uncle Tom."  Our production aims to take an honest look at a complex and inspiring story. we hope that by restoring Tom's name and revealing the humanity of his story, we honor the values he stands for: loyalty, community, and unwavering faith.  Here's a review of our 2017 production: http://m.pghcitypaper.com/pittsburgh/uncle-toms-cabin-at-point-park-conservatory/Content?oid=2584036
